We built the tool we couldn't find for the growers who needed it
Croploom started in Des Moines in 2024. The founding problem was simple: satellite imagery existed, machine learning existed, but nothing translated the two into an actionable stress report for an independent row-crop grower who has no ag tech staff.
The Origin
Growers have more data than ever. Most of it still doesn't tell them what to do.
The enterprise precision agriculture platforms are powerful. They were also built for 50,000-acre operations with dedicated agronomy staff and six-figure technology budgets. Independent growers in the Corn Belt manage their fields with Excel, their phone, and gut feel built over decades.
Caleb started Croploom after spending time with farmers in central Iowa who were subscribed to satellite services and never opening them because the maps didn't tell them anything actionable. The data was there. The interpretation wasn't.
Maya joined to build the multi-source fusion engine. Daniel brought the agronomic domain expertise to make the AI outputs agronomically sound, not just statistically interesting. Together they built the thing growers actually needed: a ranked triage list, not another pretty map.

That means satellite and drone imagery fusion priced for a 2,000-acre corn-soybean operation, not a 50,000-acre corporate entity. It means reports that say "scout zone 4 first, probable nitrogen deficiency" instead of presenting band math and making the grower figure out the rest. And it means shipping a product that runs without any staff. No onboarding specialist, no dedicated implementation, no professional services contract.
