Privacy Policy

1. Introduction
Croploom, LLC ("the Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates croploom.com (the "Service"), a satellite and drone crop monitoring platform serving row-crop growers and agronomists. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to information we collect through the Service and through direct communications with you.
Croploom's core service involves processing field location data, satellite and drone imagery associated with grower-submitted field boundaries, and agronomic notes that growers and agronomists submit to the platform. This data is processed to generate crop stress assessments, ranked triage reports, and variable-rate prescription outputs. We do not use field imagery or agronomic notes to train machine learning models without explicit written consent from the grower.
The Company is based at 317 Sixth Avenue, Suite 400, Des Moines, Iowa 50309 and can be reached at [email protected].
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
We collect information you submit directly, including:
- Contact details (name, email address, phone number) when you fill out a form, request a field report, register for the platform, or contact us;
- Farm and operation information you choose to share (operation name, state, approximate acreage, crop types, agronomist affiliation);
- Field boundary files (uploaded as GeoJSON, shapefile, or imported from connected precision ag platforms) that define the spatial extent of fields you enroll in the monitoring service;
- Agronomic notes and scouting records you enter in the platform;
- The content of any messages or support requests you send us.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you visit croploom.com or use our web application, we automatically collect limited technical information:
- IP address and approximate location (city and state level);
- Browser type, operating system, and device class;
- Pages visited, referring URLs, time on page, and navigation patterns;
- Cookie and similar identifiers (see Section 5 and our Cookie Policy).
2.3 Field and Imagery Data
To deliver crop monitoring reports, we process satellite and drone imagery associated with your enrolled field boundaries. We also process temporal NDVI and thermal data derived from those images, and historical performance metrics stored in connection with your field records. This field-level data is treated as your proprietary farm information. We do not share it with other growers or third parties except as described in Section 4.
2.4 We Do Not Knowingly Collect Children's Data
croploom.com is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Generate crop stress reports, anomaly triage lists, and variable-rate prescription files for your enrolled fields;
- Respond to inquiries, demo requests, and support tickets;
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Service, including improving the accuracy of the crop stress detection model;
- Send service updates, monitoring cycle notifications, and (with your consent where required) product news;
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud or unauthorized access;
- Comply with legal obligations applicable to our business and to agricultural data processors.
We do not sell personal information for monetary value. We do not use your field imagery or farm-level data for purposes unrelated to delivering the monitoring service without your explicit written consent.
4. Sharing of Information
We share personal information only with:
- Service providers acting on our behalf (cloud hosting, email delivery, analytics) under contractual confidentiality terms that restrict their use of your data to the service they provide for us;
- Satellite and aerial imagery data providers (Sentinel-2, Planet Labs) under data use agreements; these providers do not receive your personal contact information as part of imagery processing;
- Authorities, when required by law or to protect rights, safety, or property;
- A successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to this Policy and with notice to you.
We do not sell personal information to third parties. We do not share your field boundary data or farm location information with input retailers, crop insurance companies, or other agricultural industry participants without your explicit consent.
5. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember preferences, and measure usage. For details and opt-out choices, see our Cookie Policy.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal contact information only as long as needed for the purposes described, to comply with legal obligations, and to resolve disputes. Inactive accounts with no platform activity for 24 months will be contacted before data is purged. Field boundary files and historical monitoring data associated with active accounts are retained for the duration of the subscription plus 12 months to support agronomic analysis. Server access logs are retained 90 days, then aggregated. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing [email protected].
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal and farm-level information, including TLS encryption in transit, restricted-access cloud infrastructure, and least-privilege access controls for personnel. Field boundary files and agronomic records are stored in access-controlled storage separate from marketing and analytics data. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your General Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights including access, correction, deletion, and the ability to limit certain processing. To make a request, email [email protected]. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
